Multidisciplinary leadership with international delivery experience

Dr Jerry Aende leads strategy and technical development at VS & N across waste-to-energy, renewable energy integration, desalination and wastewater treatment. His work focuses on advancing low-carbon infrastructure, resource efficiency and the circular economy.

He holds a PhD in Chemical and Process Engineering from the University of Leeds and previously held senior management and technical roles spanning business development, oil and gas operations and strategic oversight of a regional office, leading multidisciplinary technical and commercial teams. He is a member of the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE), the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and the Institute of Water.

Dries van Wagenberg leads strategy and innovation at VS & N, focusing on partnerships, market development and the commercialisation of sustainable infrastructure and energy projects. He brings more than 40 years of international experience across trade, distribution, specialty chemicals and sustainable energy.

A graduate of Washington and Lee University, he began his career in commercial banking before expanding and later divesting his family's import and distribution business. He went on to found a specialty chemicals distribution company, which expanded into energy commodities and renewable energy markets across Europe, North America and West Africa.

Erik Westerberg helps shape VS & N's clean energy and waste-to-energy project development across Africa, Europe and other international markets. An engineer and international business leader, he brings more than 30 years of experience in project development, industrial operations, P&L management, business turnaround and renewable energy integration.

He has held senior roles with international industrial organisations including Ford, SKF, FLSmidth and Turboden (a Mitsubishi Heavy Industries company), combining technical, commercial and cross-cultural leadership in complex industrial and energy markets.

Amaan Kidwai provides expertise in supply chain strategy, business planning and operational design across VS & N's project portfolio. He brings 20 years of international experience in demand forecasting, sales and operations planning, supply planning and process transformation.

He holds a master's degree in Supply Chain Management from the University of Salford and has held planning and supply chain roles at Reliance Retail, T-Mobile, Xerox and HP, where he led sales and operations planning across eight global markets and the modernisation of forecasting through AI and machine learning analytics. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS).
